Creating Services
To create and manage services, you must be an Admin user, or you must have the Can manage service settings permission enabled in Staff Member settings.

To create a service, you must first create the service category. For example, you can create a service category called Haircuts, and add a Signature Haircut, Bang Trim, and Kid's Cut as services.
To create a service category, open the Services app and select Add Category. Enter the category name and select Create.
You can make a service category only accessible in online booking through a direct link. This can be helpful for temporary service specials, or if you need to limit online booking access.
To make a service category only accessible in online booking through a direct link, select the category and go to the Advanced tab. Select Edit and enable the Only show in online booking with direct link toggle.

To create a service, open the Services app and select Add Service.
Enter the service details and select Create.
The table below provides more information on the different settings available when creating services.
Service setting | Description |
|---|---|
Service name | The service name. Make sure each service name can be understood independently. Clients will only see the service name in their notifications, not the service category name. |
Price | The default service price. The price can later be customized for individual staff members or adjusted per location in the service's Locations tab. |
Charge tax | Enable this toggle to charge sales tax for this service. |
Duration | The default service duration. The duration can later be customized for individual staff members or clients. |
Has processing time | Enable this toggle to set default processing and finishing times for this service. These times can later be customized for individual staff members. |
Has buffer time | Enable this toggle to set buffer time for this service. |
Additional options > This service uses products | Enable this toggle to add product usage to this service. |
Additional options > This is a group service | Enable this toggle to create a group service. |
Additional options > Requires no staff (resources only) | Enable this toggle to create a service that doesn't require staff members. |
Additional options > Requires two staff members | Enable this toggle to require two staff members for this service. This setting is useful for services where two staff members are required for the same client, such as a mani/pedi combination service or four-hand massage therapy. |
Additional options > This service has a commission deduction | This toggle is only visible to Admin users. Enable this toggle to add a pre or post-commission deduction to this service. |

To control the order in which service categories and services appear in online booking, open the Services app and drag and drop each service category and service name.
