Appointments, Sales, & Payments
Appointments, sales, and payments in Mangomint are all closely connected, but different. This article covers all three and why it's important to understand how they work together.
For example, if a client paid a deposit for their appointment, and you update the appointment after the deposit was collected, the sale (i.e. checkout) will not be updated to reflect your changes. This is expected behavior based on how appointments, sales, and payments work in Mangomint.

Appointments, sales, and payments are connected but different for several reasons, including:
Maintain accurate data: Because appointments and sales are different, you can maintain accurate data.
If an appointment has an open sale with a completed deposit, that deposit was collected for a specific service and staff member. This is why updating the appointment after the deposit was collected will not update the open sale. The sale will continue to reflect the previous details (unless you manually update the sale) so you have an accurate record of what the deposit was originally collected for.
Similarly, updating a sale will not update the appointment. This will allow the appointment to have an accurate record of what was originally scheduled.
Generate detailed reports: Because sales and payments are different, you can run detailed Payment reports.
All payments, including pre-payments and deposits on open sales, are immediately included in your Payment reports so you always have access to your latest payment data. Once a sale is closed, it will be included in your Sales reports.
